As a new claims agent, you’ll be speaking with referred customers, making judgements on claim viability, and gathering all the necessary information. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain a calm, professional manner at all times. The individual should also be highly organised and be able to prioritise their workload. Telephone experience is essential, and working in claims previously would be an advantage.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Contacting referred customers promptly, handling each claim in line with company regulations
  • Gathering and recording all required details for a claim, recognising where further validation may be needed
  • Liaising with a number of third parties, such as insurers and witnesses to fully validate claims
  • Referring more challenging claims to the Pending Hire Team or a manager if necessary
  • Establishing the roadworthiness of a customer’s vehicle, and identifying any additional requirements
  • Regularly updating customers and those who referred the claim as to the progress made

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a call centre environment a must, and office or claims experience would be desirable
  • Good level of education - GCSE level or equivalent (English and Maths particularly desirable)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with a confident telephone manner
  • Someone who is a great team player, happy to assist colleagues when needed
  • A highly organised individual who maintains accuracy even under pressure
  • Someone who is target driven, pushing themselves to achieve and exceed targets
  • An individual with at least basic IT skills, such as knowledge of Microsoft Office
