As a patient coordinator, you’ll be responsible for directing patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a polite and efficient manner. You will also assist the practice team, through duties such as processing appointment requests and scanning and processing inbound post and emails. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a receptionist or in a similar role. Our client is looking for candidates with exemplary interpersonal skills, along with outstanding time management skills.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Receiving and assisting patients when they enter the medical centre, interacting with them in a courteous and efficient way
  • Speaking to patients over the phone and in person to book and process appointments
  • Monitoring the practice email inboxes and handling inbound post, actioning as appropriate
  • Registering new patients onto the NHS system
  • Keeping the main reception area clean and tidy, and clearing rooms after surgeries
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times and ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a reception based role preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An individual who can work effectively with others and is willing to make suggestions to improve the performance of the team
  • Someone who can effectively manage their own time, workload and resources
  • A proactive and enthusiastic individual who will treat each patient with care and respect
  • Flexibility for sickness and holiday cover is highly desirable
